barrie fumberger Nate has given me hope in an otherwise awful time in my life . He has been prompt , professional , respectful and above all , truthful in his treatment of me and dealing with an insurance company that I am unable to deal with. I cant recommend enough , great work and thank you !! Jeff Lavenda AusRehab has been absolutely absolutely absolutely 💯 👌 fantastic for me... And i must special mention Tolga Altinisik and Matt for going over and above and totally exceeding my expectations... Thanks sooo very much 😊 JN Saeed Lashgari I don’t usually write reviews, but I really felt I had to say something about how much AusRehab helped me. After my accident and working with another rehab company, I was feeling lost and didn’t know what was going to happen with my life. I was in pain all the time and getting the runaround from people who were supposed to help. Then I got connected with Matt from AusRehab and everything changed. Matt is kind but brutally honest, which I really appreciate. He has a way of explaining things that actually makes sense. He listened to me and didn’t treat me like just another number. He helped me through every step — with the doctors, the paperwork, my appointments, even just being someone I could talk to when things got too much. He made me feel like I wasn’t alone in this. I wish I had been working with Matt from the start — things would’ve been so different. I was in a really dark place, but Matt made me feel like I had someone in my corner. I don’t have all the fancy words, but all I can say is he really cared. I felt like I mattered. Thank you, Matt, and thank you, AusRehab, for helping me when I needed it most. At the Douglas Partners Lab Event, AusRehab conducted a manual handling training seminar designed to reduce workplace injuries and improve movement efficiency. The training focused on dynamic stretching, flexibility exercises, and hands-on demonstrations, equipping participants with practical strategies to prevent strain, fatigue, and musculoskeletal injuries. Through this initiative, Douglas Partners employees acquired the skills to perform physically demanding tasks more safely and efficiently.

Choose the team of workplace rehab experts that cares for you and delivers real results.
Workplace rehabilitation is a structured process an injured worker undergoes to return to work safely and efficiently through medical, psychological, and workplace support.
This may require guidance from allied health experts such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, psychologists and social workers.
For a more in-depth understanding, see our comprehensive guide to workplace rehabilitation.
A workplace rehab provider assists both injured workers and employers with the return to work process, by developing treatment plans, providing regular updates, and engaging with the company’s return to work programs.
The goal of rehab providers is to support the worker’s recovery while ensuring they can perform their duties effectively and without risk of further injury.
Our blog article discusses this in more detail: Workplace Rehabilitation Providers: What Exactly Do They Do?
The duration of workplace rehabilitation varies based on the severity of the injury and individual recovery rates, ranging from a few weeks to several months.
As clients work through their tailored recovery plan and their progress is monitored, their return to work timeline is adjusted as needed.
While everyone’s recovery journey is uniquely different, refer to our blog article for an overview of what to expect: The 8 Steps of the Work Rehabilitation Process.
Typically, a work rehab provider is appointed if the employee has not recovered from the workplace injury within 2 weeks. Engaging a rehab provider in a timely manner reduces time loss and prevents a delayed return to work.
Annual leave can be taken during workers compensation in New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.
In most states, employees get paid for both the annual leave and workers compensation.
In New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia annual leave will accrue during workers compensation if the employee would have otherwise been entitled to the accrual had they not been on workers compensation.
As an injured worker, you have the final say in choosing a workplace rehabilitation provider.
Ensure you choose a work rehab provider that is suitable for you.
Choosing the right work rehab provider ensures your rehabilitation needs are met.
To switch your rehab provider, your insurer needs documentation explaining the reasons for the new choice.
After sending this to the insurer, share a copy of the documentation with your employer and AusRehab. Our team will then contact the insurer.
If the insurer doesn’t approve the change, you can raise the issue with SafeWork NSW at 13 10 50.
An Ernst & Young study has shown that timely appointment of a work rehab provider not only improves Return to Work (RTW) outcomes, but also significantly reduces claims costs.
This means a reduction in time loss, productivity loss and employee turnover rate.
An injured worker’s recovery process is continuously monitored and managed by a dedicated support team.
This team consists of the worker’s employer, the insurer, the nominated treating doctor (NTD), allied health professionals, and the workplace rehabilitation provider.
This team coordinates efforts to assess the worker’s health and capacity for work, ensuring a smooth recovery and return to work.
